6 Ways to Make Your Photo Tips More Useful for You!

Here at Your Photo Tips we strive to make your photographic life better.  We can’t do it alone though.  Sometimes, as a reader, you have to take a little initiative to get the most out of the tons of content that we have here on our photography tutorials website.

We run this website for you.  So I thought I’d put together this quick post on getting the most out of Your Photo Tips.

1. Seek and ye shall find!

We actually have two (yes two!) search boxes for your convenience.

If you look in the upper right hand corner of any page you’ll see a white static search box powered by our fine friends at lijit.  The search pulls up a separate window that will show you the results without losing your page.  You can search within this website’s contents or within our trusted network of photography blogs to help ensure you find exactly what you’re looking for.

When scrolling down a page you’ll notice a bar that appears at the top of the page.  It’s powered by our friends at Apture who also happen to power our awesome content filled links.  It works by pulling search results from our website while also giving you options to peruse wikipedia, videos, and images from around the web.

If there is a particular topic about photography you are looking for, type in your search request and chances are, we have posted about it.  If not then either

We provide both of these options to help ensure that you are able to find whatever photography related content you are searching for even when that result is on another photography related website.

2. Stay up to date!

We know that you all have busy lives.  That’s why we provide many different ways for you to subscribe to our website.

We have RSS, Twitter, and an email newsletter that you can take full advantage of.  These options are all on the sidebar for your convenience.

To find out which is the best option for you hit the subscribe page at the top where we give you more details about what to expect as a reader!

3. Ask a Photographer!

If you have a post or topic you’d like me to cover please let me know.  You can use the contact page at the top to send me questions, ideas, or suggestions.

I want you to let me know how I can help you become a better photographer.  That’s why we started this website.

What makes running this website so great is hearing from you and building a community of photography enthusiasts and readers who engage with me and each other.

4. Join the conversation!

The comments section is a great place to engage with myself, with a guest author, or with any of the other readers to get more insight, offer commentary, or even a differing opinion!

We use Disqus to power our comments to provide a rich conversation complete with threading and updates so you can stay up to date with any of the conversations going on.

5. Send us YOUR best photography tip, tutorial, review, or project!

We absolutely love to hear your stories and ideas about photography.  Not only does this give me a break from writing it also gives the website a new voice and different perspectives on photography.

We’d love to hear your best photography tip, post processing technique, review your camera gear, or just write about anything photography related.

Again, use the contact page to send me an idea or inquiry about guest posting.

6. Spread the love of photography!

We work hard to reach as many photographers and photo enthusiasts as possible but we can’t do it alone.  If you ever feel someone else would benefit from visiting our website please send them our way!

Our readership goes up a little bit every month and I’m admitting right now, in front of all of you readers, it’s one of the biggest things that motivates us to keep working on the website and writing articles.

So please share Your Photo Tips with your friends and family via Twitter, facebook, or your favorite social network or through email.  We provide a few ways to do this; the Apture drop down bar has some options, we have buttons built into the pages, and we have a little “share” button on the bottom of every post to make this super easy.

Thanks!

We can’t thank you enough for supporting Your Photo Tips in all of the ways that you do as a reader.

So…

Thank you for being awesome!!!

If you have any ideas, comments, or suggestions on anything please use the comments section or contact me via email
