Quite true, and that's just ONE of the ways photographers are suspected of being up to no good. Two others:

. If there are any children within 600 miles of where you're photographing, you're suspected of having evil designs on children.

. If any cops are in your field of view, there's a good chance those cops are going to find your filming, shall we say, inconvenient. Being as they're cops, they think they run the world, and you're likely to get hassled, if not beat up and then charged with resisting arrest.

All of these need to be fixed ASAP.

I was harassed by security guards for videotaping off the San Diego Trolley. The video and the description of what happened is at the bottom of this posting.

XIII. Photography, Videography, and the Use of Visual Recording Devices
Personal photography is permitted. The following are prohibited, unless otherwise authorized by the 9/11 Memorial’s Department of Public Affairs and Communications:

a. Taking photographs for advertising or commercial purposes,
b. Using cameras or other visual recording devices in the security screening area, other restricted areas or in internal offices, and
c. Using studio set-ups, tripods, and/or professional photography equipment.
i. Such camera set-ups are subject to security screening pursuant to Section VII and are permissible, and for use, on Memorial Property at the discretion of 9/11 security personnel.
d. The 9/11 Memorial reserves the right to terminate access and photographic/recording usage rights of any user or group at any time.
i. Any visitors to Memorial Property must respect all other visitors, and must also realize that due to the somber nature of this establishment, not all visitors wish to be taped, photographed, recorded, or bothered in any other manner.

This isn't about terrorism anymore.
Maybe it was 6 or 7 years ago, but the terrorism excuse is just used by Government officials to control the actions and freedoms of the common man.
That pesky Constitution and Bill of Rights has gotten in their way for to long now. Osama gave them the excuse they've been looking for.

I'll go one further and say that 9/11 sparked a decade of madness, period, end of sentence, full stop. I will concede, though, that photographers, travelers, technologists and anyone who might look vaguely arabic have borne the brunt of it.

I had a very engaging conversation about the TSA last night with a friend who is a flight attendant for a major airline. (its a conversation we, as a nation, need to have more often!)

And ironically, it was during the Cowboys/Jets game when Tony Romo threw that last interception to Darrelle Revis, one of the best cornerbacks in football. And I was screaming at the TV, "Why the hell are you throwing the ball at the guy? He will burn you all day and you KNOW it!"

Which segued back into our conversation about the TSA . . . and my point was, a good football team sees your defensive game plan and makes adjustments. They don't try the same thing over and over and over after it has failed. And neither do terrorists. Do we really believe after 10 years of losing our collective minds and taking off our shoes at the airport, al Qaeda would ever have an active shoe bomber plot? EVER? Their first and only shoe bomb plot failed MISERABLY from a tactical standpoint, but was quite effective in its secondary goal of making us do stupid things out of fear. Has all this removing of shoes REALLY prevented another shoe bomb? Nope, they went to the underwear bomb (failed) and now they talk about a colon bomb.

As a country, we have to keep up our defenses, but we really need to stop doing stupid and senseless things that play into the hands of the terrorists. Their goal is NOT to kill us all, but to turn us into paranoid, frightened sheep who will gladly give up our precious freedoms for a false sense of security. The scary thing is that the police and security personnel are TRAINED to be suspicious of things that are not threats, and it distracts them from the REAL threats.

Hey, maybe the internet is a threat, because I've had someone seriously tell me that posting videos of TSA check points on youtube helps al qaeda learn our defenses and plot attacks against airports. Sadly, I agree this is how too many people think, but here's my suggestion . . .

if the terrorists know you are going after photographers, what's to stop them from sending out a dozen photographers to grab your attention and distract you while they take advantage of the distraction and confusion to execute a REALLY terrible plot?

let's not be a nation of Tony Romos and throw the ball right at the defender . . . play smart!

TSA policy has little to do with logic. It's all about the image. Bureaucratize rather than "solve" the problem.
There are 1000 ways to kill Americans and the plane method was already used, an unlikely venue for any future attack because nowadays 200 passengers will try to kill any hijackers on the spot.

Firefighters for 9-11 Truth is a non-partisan association of firefighters and affiliates created to increase awareness, provide public education, demand a real investigation that follows National Standards, and provide support to our Brothers and Sisters in need. We are deeply troubled by the “official story,” and the way the rescue workers from Ground Zero are being forgotten.

We believe there is overwhelming evidence of obstruction of justice, and destruction of evidence voiced even by numerous 9/11 Commissioners themselves. Senator Cleland resigned from the Commission stating, “This investigation is now compromised.”

NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) 921, which is the National Standard for Fire and Explosion Investigations, very clearly indicates in numerous sections that the possibility of explosives should have been thoroughly investigated. Specifically in NFPA 921 18.3.2 High Order Damage - “High-order damage is characterized by shattering of the structure, producing small, pulverized debris. Walls, roofs, and structural members are splintered or shattered, with the building completely demolished. Debris is thrown great distances, possibly hundreds of feet. High-order damage is the result of rapid rates of pressure rise.” World Trade Center’s 1, 2, and 7 all clearly met this definition; therefore they should have been thoroughly investigated and analyzed for explosives. Specifically, the use of “exotic accelerants” should have been investigated. In NFPA 921 19.2.4 -”Exotic Accelerants,” three indicators were clearly met that should have led to a thorough investigation in to the possible use of “exotic accelerants,” specifically as stated in the guideline, “Thermite mixtures.”

So, why was the possibility of explosives, controlled demolition, or the use of “exotic accelerants” not thoroughly investigated, or even mentioned in the 9-11 Commission Report?

Firefighters for 9-11 Truth demand the following:

1. A truly independent investigation with Subpoena and Contempt Powers to uncover the complete truth of the events related to 9/11/2001, specifically the collapse of WTC Tower 7 and the possibility of explosive demolition.
2. The investigation to follow the national standards so clearly outlined in the National Fire Protection Association guidelines, specifically, NFPA 921 to include thorough analysis of the steel for the presence of “exotic accelerants.”
3. Congress to honor the promises made to the rescue workers of 9/11 by passing the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act of 2008.
4. Prosecution of all individuals willfully involved in the planning, and execution of the murders committed on September 11, 2001.
5. Prosecution of all individuals willfully involved in the Obstruction of Justice and Destruction of Evidence surrounding the events of September 11, 2001.

We challenge you to look at the evidence with an open mind and make judgments. Remember, you don’t have to be an expert to sit on a jury, and you have the right to be critical of, and demand answers from the “experts.” Take the time to gather facts, and have the courage to ask for more. If you come to the same conclusion as the FBI, and don’t place him on your “most wanted” list, then have the courage to help find those responsible for the death of so many of our Brothers and Sisters. We all need to show some courage by demanding answers, justice, and fair treatment for the Ground Zero Rescue Workers!

II. Mission Statement

III. Mission

We call upon Congress for a truly independent investigation with subpoena power. We believe that there is sufficient evidence to conclude that three World Trade Center buildings #1 (North Tower), #2 (South Tower), and #7 (the 47-story high-rise across Vesey St.) were destroyed not by jet impact and fires but by controlled demolition with explosives.

On September 11, 2010, the ninth anniversary, we succeeded in sending a third beam of light into the New York skyline.

Said founder Richard Gage during the press conference that evening, "The people of New York need to see the light--that a third WTC skyscraper not hit by any plane was destroyed on September 11th. They have been deceived about what happened on that terrible day. We are shining the spotlight, literally, on the fact that the official story of what happened at Ground Zero simply cannot be true and that a truly independent new investigation is needed both as a matter of national security and as the key to justice for the victims of the Twin Towers."

IV. Method

Architects & Engineers for 911 Truth focuses solely on the forensic evidence available to prove that the three World Trade Center buildings were demolished as a means of proving to Congress that a new and independent investigation is warranted.

We also want to explain the evidence to the public at large. We believe that turning the tide of public opinion is the most powerful way to convince Congress to pursue a new investigation.

9/11: Blueprint for Truth is available in four lengths: the full version is 2 hours, and three abbridged versions are available in 1-hour, 30-minute, and 10-minute presentations.

All architects, engineers, and others with competence as writers and speakers, whether they choose to sign our petition or not, are encouraged report the results of our research.

V. Founder

Richard Gage, AIA, is a San Francisco Bay Area architect and a member of the American Institute of Architects. He has been an architect for over 23 years and has worked on most types of building construction, including numerous fire-proofed, steel-framed buildings. Most recently, he worked on the construction documents for a $400M mixed-use urban project with 1.2 million square feet of retail, a parking structure, and 320,000 square feet of mid-rise office space—altogether with about 1,200 tons of steel framing. Mr. Gage became interested in researching the destruction of the WTC high-rises after hearing on the radio the startling conclusions of reluctant 9/11 researcher David Ray Griffin in 2006, which launched his own unyielding quest for the truth about 9/11. Since founding Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth, Gage has presented Blueprint for Truth all over the world, and he has appeared on radio shows and television spots.
