Amazing Video Morph - Women In Art
Beautiful transformations and a nice little app
Here is a great example of the use of video and computer manipulation.
"Morph: to change or cause to change smoothly from one image to another by small gradual steps using computer animation techniques"

Have a look at the following movie by Philip Scott Johnson to see what morphing software when used well, is capable of producing. I do not know what software he uses, but the transformations are amazing.
Philip Scott Johnson's video shows a unique view of paintings of women throughout the ages of art. He has created many other video morphs which can be viewed on YouTube and Vimeo. While the subject matter can be somewhat controversial in the context of Post Modern criticism, the technique is beautifully executed.
Image morphing is a technique that can be accomplished using computer software such as MorphX by Norrkross Software for the Mac. There are other software packages for PC and Mac but because I use a Mac, MorphX is the one that I have been playing with.
MorphX is a nice little Freeware app that is simple to use and will produce great transformations from one image to another. The application uses a well thought out process that is simple to use and easy to learn.
"Use Norrkross MorphX for calculating images or movies where one image transforms into another. Simply drag 2 images to the document window, drag a few lines to indicate similar areas and Norrkross MorphX calculates images so that it looks like the first image magically is transformed into the other. You can save the morph as as still image snapshot or as a full animated QuickTime movie."

The program allows one transform at a time which can be saved out as a QuickTime Movie clip which can then be imported into iMovie or any movie editing software to create a longer animated sequence.
