Aspiring cop beat up by cops in a wrongful arrest caught on video
Eighteen-year-old Marco Basualdo was aspiring to be a police officer.
But that was before the New Jersey teen was wrongly arrested and beaten up in incident caught on a surveillance video.
Now it wouldn’t be surprising if the criminal justice student chooses a different career path.
Union City police officers apprehended Basualdo because they suspected him of burglary.
After handcuffing him, one officer placed his knee on Basualdo’s back and punched him three times.
And even though they realized he was not a burglary suspect, they still charged him with resisting arrest, which never fails to amaze me how they can get away with that without an underlying charge to base it on.
The police, of course, say the video is all lies. That the truth is actually the opposite of what we saw.

But why was he running from the police at the start of the video? It does not seem to justify the level of violence by the police, but it may back the “resisting arrest” charge.
Rule #27: Don’t run from the police.
The punches were probably his “punishment” for running from them.
Although, after seeing so many of these kinds of videos over the past few years, I’d probably run from them too… guilty or not guilty.
“Witnesses” which translates to other cops. Good luck trying to get any justice even though the video is pretty obvious.
It looks like he was jogging.
This is New Jersey. Running from cops is a rational reaction.
i agree with frank.
and carlos, something DOES need to be done about “resisting arrest” especially in light of federal court decisions regarding resisting arrest so much so that the cop dies – and it not being any more than “unintentional manslaughter” or whatever.
resisting arrest is 100% bogus if no other charges stick, in my opinion.
Don’t Be Afraid of these corrupt cops in Union City
Nj , they try to pull the same crap on everyone who they can do it to, most are good cops but there are a few who think they are above the Law Especially Chief Everrett who covers up for them at the expense of the dignity of the innocent people they arrest.
This sort of things happen all the time in UNION CITY NJ , A GANG OF THUGS RUN BY CHEIF EVERETT AND HIS CROONIES , MY FATHER GOT ARRESTED RIGHT ON THE FRONT STEPS OF HIS HOME IN UNION CITY NJ AFTER HE CALLED THE POLICE FOR A DOMESTIC DISPUTE WITH A NEIGHBOR THEY (THE POLICE )CAME OVER DIDN’T EVEN HEAR HIM AND ARRESTED HIM RIGHT AT HIS HOME.
WE HAVE TO STOP THIS KIND OF ABUSE OF BASIC RIGHTS .

exactly they all cover each other , one cope becomes witness for another and so on that’s how the corruption works in Union City POlice department
with the exception of Brian Stack (Mayor )who has tried to bring order to all this madness
and is sure fed up with the problems in Union City also .
Caps Lock… cruise control for cool….
Well, the cops may be corrupt in NJ but at least they have a lot of GUN CONTROL!! That, of course, has just about wiped out violent crime in the Garden State.
John Bad Elk v US (177 US 529) comes first to mind.
I wasn’t gonna run from the cops but I was High, Was gonna pull right over and stop, but I was high.
Now I’m all F!#@# up and I know why HEY HEY cause I was high, cause I was high, cause I was high. Da da dum dum dum.
They used to play this song to the Kids at Bowl right lanes.
If we love the Law if we love our freedom If we love our rights Dont break the law, Dont run from the cops, hold your ground and stand up for your rights. And Dont lie afterwards so that you can get Paid. Thats what IT look like Kid. You were running. Its ON the tape.
The video doesn’t show him running.
Who cares if they run. Yes, that is breaking the law.
But, if they have stopped, if they are down, if they are handcuffed, don’t hit them, don’t tase them, don’t kick them.
mepsipax´s last blog ..Fuck you breeders
He probably ran because even though he was innocent, by the time he could prove that he would already be beaten up, jailed, and be several thousand dollars poorer?
