BBC photographer shocked that he was harassed for taking photos
It’s been almost a year since the United Kingdom enacted a law that turned photographers into terrorists but it is only now that the British mainstream media is making an issue about it.
And that is only because a photographer from the British Broadcasting Corporation was harassed as he was photographing a sunset over St. Paul’s Cathedral. The cop demanded his name, address and date-of-birth as a counter-terrorism measure.
BBC photographer Jeff Overs came on a video segment on the BBC to describe his experience and it’s almost comical to see the reaction of one of the other journalists on the set. At 1:09 to be exact.
It’s as if she just awoke from a coma and discovered her civil liberties had been stripped.

“When people talk about civil liberties, you sorta think they’re banging on a bit…” It’s a shame that most people don’t care unless it affects them directly. Speaking as somebody who is neither a professional or amateur photographer, I think people need to wake up and look at what their countries have become.
Tom,
Given that most of us can go through life without ever pushing regarding our civil liberties, it’s understandable that most don’t care until they are bitten on the ass. Deplorable, even disgusting, but understandable.
Very deplorable Ariel. Also, too late by the time you notice it.
mepsipax,
Interesting that you should put it that way, which segues to: Widespread Falsification by Arresting Officers. Seems a Federal Judge has noticed it enough to speak out regarding NYC.

Pot. Tepid water. Frog. Bring to boil. Frog dies.
Poor Brits. It’s 1984 over there.
