Benro's new tripods
We love a good tripod here at Small Aperture. I’ve two (one upstairs, one downstairs) and Gareth has even named his (it’s called Trev). Now we’re beginning to wonder if we won’t be adding one of the new Benro numbers to our collection. They’ve just released their Flat Traveller range of lightweight, compact tripods in either shiny aluminium or super-swish carbon-fibre.
There are three sizes available: small, medium, and large (how avant-guard), capable of bearing loads of 6, 8 or 12 kilograms respectively. All of them have twist lock legs that are dust and water resistant, as well as an anti-rotation leg system. The centre column is there for fine vertical adjustments, too.
Moving from legs to feet, you can have them with stainless steel spikes or little rubber ones.
Being meant for travel and location shooting, you get a nifty carry case, with straps, too. Benro reckons that they are the lightest, most stable, and fastest to operate tripods in their class.
So what about price? The aluminium versions range from £109.99 for the smallest to £130 for the medium model and up to £160 for the largest. Their carbon-fibre equivalents are £319.99, £359.99 and £394.99 respectively.
If you want to know where you can lay your hands on one of these, take a look at their stockist’s – Kenro’s – website, or give them a buzz on 01793 615836.
