Introduced in 1935 and the oldest brand of color films Kodachrome is gone forever!

One of the great things about kodachrome is that it had a long shelf life. People were not afraid to use Kodachrome after the date stamped on the carton. Kodachrome was unique in the way it was processed.

In the past year or so. I sold boxes of Kodachrome that were at least 10 to 20 years out of date. Many collectors want the boxes to show in there collections alongside their period cameras.

Not only were there many different types of Kodachrome, there was different packaging used throughout the 70 + years that it existed. Early versions were packaged with a metal tin that was red and yellow. Kodachrome was produced in 35mm as well as 127, 120, 620, 110 and other formats. Collectors like to have the film boxes match the format and vintage of the cameras in their camera collection. If you still have film, old boxes or vintage Kodachrome items you might still be in luck.  While it is too late to process the film, you might still find a few collectors on eBay.
