British cops caught on camera punching and torturing innocent soldier
Update: After further research, this incident actually took place in July 2008. It is now resurfacing in the news because the cops just pleaded not guilty. They will go on trial next year.
Three British police officers in Manchester wrongly detained a man they thought was harassing paramedics, tackling him where one of the cops repeatedly punched him eight times before grabbing the back of his head and scraping his face against the street.
Then they charged Mark Aspinall, who is a lance corporal in the British army, with assault on police. Those charges have since been dropped.
Now the cops are under investigation for the incident that took place in July. The video speaks for itself. It doesn’t take much of an “investigation.”

Dude, that video link is extremely NSFW!!
Carlos – Can you post some screen shots? Our internet filter seriously dislikes video streams.
Not surprised about the bobbies behavior, they take the whole ‘contempt of cop’ attitude as a personal affront to their sorry ass ego’s
I had to post that real quick this morning because I was headed out to a photo assignment.
I just updated it with a new safe for work video as well as a link to a recent story.
Kind of brave to plead not guilty when the evidence is quite obvious. Reminds me of the time in US when an offduty police beat a bartender because he wasn’t allowed to drink anymore. That beating would’ve gotten anyone non-LEO years in prison but this guy got away with a slap to his wrist. I don’t know how he plead, but the fact that he and many other cops get away with blatant crimes so easily just fortifies the idea in police force that they’re above the law.
I for one think they should be held more accountable than normal citizens because of the trust and power given to them.
Wait… The soldier was CONVICTED of police assault!?
It is stuff like this, the nanny-state attitude, the implied fact that the people in the UK are now the most surveilled (cctv), bizarre anti-freedom and liberty attitude of the local and national government, etc… is why that I did not spend >$5k on my first real vacation in the UK, I went elsewhere.
Luckily I don’t work on Fridays. The websites provided on the original video link were actually quite entertaining.
The commentary on this video is such a load of crap. The officers were obviously trying to hold him down and get him in cuffs. They weren’t putting the boots to him. If you look, you will see one officer trying to get his arm behind his back but was obviously having trouble. That is why punches were applied. It’s called pain compliance.
If you think this is police brutality, I guess you have never tried to subdue a resisting subject before. It’s damn hard to do without causing a lot of damage. These UK officers were simply doing their jobs and it is pathetic they are being treated like this.
Not Rodney King, and have seen a lot worse.
This country should not ponder why they get bombed, their drunk police are too busy betting up drunk Americans.
What a way to make friends, eh?
