Capture the Uniqueness of a Wedding

Everyone knows that no two weddings are ever the same.  As a photographer it's your responsibility to capture that uniqueness for your bride (and her mom).  After all, they are the ones who paid you big bucks to shoot their wedding.

Strive to Capture Uniqueness in Your Wedding Photography

The fact that all weddings are different plays to one of your biggest possible marketing strategies as a wedding photographer if you play your cards right.  This uniqueness perfectly coincides with the fact that you, as a photographer swimming in a pond of many other photographers, are unique yourself.  You know how to turn an average wedding into an extraordinary wedding.

With the abandonment of "cookie cutter" wedding photography, and styled and posed portraits, every wedding you capture with your camera will expose the specialness of the event.  If there's one thing a bride most wants of her wedding (besides her groom showing up on time) is for the event to be special.

NOTE: While the move to "pure photojournlastic" capture in weddings is a rising and growing trend I still believe you should get the group shots asked for by your client.

Wedding photojournalists have these unique advantages.

  • They capture the moment.
  • They capture the emotional outpouring between the participants.
  • They react to each situation with sensitivity.
  • They wield their cameras with the timing and grace of a cat.

The Main Goal

The main goal of every wedding photojournalist is to be a fly on the wall.  Remain unobtrusive.  Do not impose on the natural and genuine moments of this special event.  Let them unfold and wield your camera, your vision, and your passion to preserve the specialness of a wedding day.
