Casio Debuts Best Camera For Geotagging
New 14MP EXILIM EX-20G Incorporates State-of-the-Art Technology
Casio today unveiled what it claims is the world’s first Hybrid GPS enabled digital camera, the EXILIM EX-H20G. The Hi-Zoom EX-H20G is not only packed with features to appeal to any snapshooter, but the camera also utilizes state-of-the-art Hybrid GPS technology, which makes it perfect for the travelers, vacationers and globe trotting photographers.
The EXILIM EX-H20G is a 14.1MP digicam that offers a 10x optical zoom which can further be extended to 15x using Casio's Single Frame SR Zoom function. The camera can record 720p HD video at 30 fps. Other features include Casio's own Premium Auto function; a Panorama Photo mode that can take a 360 degree image; an auto-time adjustment that synchronizes the camera's date and time with that of the current location and time zone; HDMI output to view photos and video on HDTVs; Casio's Dynamic Photo function that lets you create moving photos in-camera; and much more.
Casio’s Hybrid GPS system offers ultra-precise location data for the geotagging of photos and videos and is also the first camera able to geotag indoors. The camera can track its last known satellite-acquired position against map data stored in the camera's internal memory. The camera comes preloaded with information on 10,000 sightseeing photo spots around the world, so when you are in the vicinity of any of these spots the camera will actually let you know about the point-of-interest.
The Casio EX-H20G can also display the user’s current location - as well as geotagged photos and videos - on a map that can be viewed right on the camera. You can even use the map feature to find the best route from one sightseeing locale to another.
Photos and video can be shared on popular websites, and with software that offers geotagging functionality, such as Picasa, Panoramio, Google Earth, Flickr, and iPhoto.
Casio is offering the EX-H20G in black or silver. The EX-H20G is scheduled to hit stores in November 2010 with an MSRP of $349.99.
