Charges Still Pending Against Adam Mueller After Hung Jury

Mueller charged with disorderly conduct after videotaping cops on side of road

Adam Mueller's trial for videotaping police officers in Jones County, Mississippi resulted in a hung jury last week, which means the district attorney can still refile the charges of disorderly conduct.

While some jurors and deputies believe that videotaping deputies in public is a crime, Mueller's friend Pete Eyre was allowed to videotape the deputies' testimonies inside the courtroom, making one wonder if the two jurors who voted to convict Mueller were asleep during the trial.

Deputies James Atkins and Abraham McKenzie testified that they thought it was very "unusual" for a citizen to be videotaping a traffic stop.

Atkins testifed that even feared the camera could be some type of weapon.

And McKenzie, who made the arrest, testified that he believed the situation could turn "dangerous" if he didn't handcuff Mueller immediately.

Under an excellent cross examination by Mueller, McKenzie testified that he ordered him to stop videotaping for "safety purposes" - even though he admitted that Mueller wasn't breaking the law.

Mueller:  "By your knowledge, I wasn't breaking the law."

McKenzie: "No sir."

Mueller: "So why would you place me in handcuffs and take my camera."

McKenzie: "For safety purposes for my fellow officers, for myself and anybody else on the scene."

Mueller: "What did you tell me to turn off?"

McKenzie: "Your camera."

Mueller: "Is that a lawful request?"

McKenzie: "Yes, if I feel like my fellow deputies or myself or anybody else is in danger, it sure is."

Mueller: "Why did you feel you were in danger?"

McKenzie: "Because there are many things in distractionary devices that get his attention on you for something to happen to him." (Huh?)

Mueller, who is one of the main contributors of Cop Block, is asking readers to call the district attorney and demand the charges against him be dropped.

I’m asking that those who believe I’m innocent of the states charges to call Wayne Thompson, ask him to drop my charges.

"Because there are many things in distractionary devices that get his attention on you for something to happen to him."

You can get about what he means out of that, but you have to drag it out kicking and screaming.

But seriously, what planet are those cops living on? Do they think they're in some sort of movie? Where the bad guys actually have to be crafty to outsmart them?

IN my opinion The officer clearly told him to stop video taping, SO the officer knew the man had a camera. SO the officer was clearly committing perjury when he testified that he thought it was a weapon.
If he cannot tell the difference between a camera and a weapon on a clear day from 2 feet away he is clearly to incompetent to have the authority to own a weapon.
To place that aside for the DA to place these officers on the stand, and not in jail for blatantly destroying evidence shows him to be a total FUCKTART> Excuse my language I cannot fathom any other word to properly describe this Prosecutors total incompetence and total disrespect for our constitution. The total disrespect for the taxpayers who have to foot the bill for another trial.
I expect the police to be weaselly little Job scared scabby liars.I say that as a man who has never been arrested, a respected member of my community. I say it because it is now become common knowledge. This prosecutor is a all together different kind of scumbag. All my personal opinion of course.

This case is such a joke. Well done Mueller, and good luck to you man (though I SERIOUSLY doubt you will see a penny of your money back). I will be calling the DA tomorrow morning.

Mueller: "What did you tell me to turn off?"
McKenzie: "Your camera."
Mueller: "Why did you feel you were in danger?"
McKenzie: "Because there are many things in distractionary devices that get his attention on you for something to happen to him."

I cannot stop laughing. What McKenzie said really entertain me.

Let me name what came out from McKenzie's mouth (after processing from his tiny skull) is a retarded reasoning.

This is a good example of cops testifying stupid to cover up their lies.

"This is a good example of cops testifying stupid to cover up their lies."

Who was dumber, the cops, or the morons on the jury who couldn't figure this out?

If you demonstrate an IQ larger than your shoe size you will not get on a jury in the antebellum south.

Amid all the details, how exactly does "Disorderly Conduct" apply here? Sounds like a Crowley/Gates
bullshit charge when they can't come up with anything
else.
We've already got a massive over-incarceration problem
in the US, and Mississippi is tying up the courts with THIS??

"McKenzie: "Because there are many things in distractionary devices that get his attention on you for something to happen to him."

Holy Shit.
I've never seen a Peace Officer resort
to gobbledygook when pressed on the witness stand.
A first!

If you can't dazzle them with brillance, baffle them with bullshit.
