Find Amazon bargains!
I just stumbled over a clever tip over at the Consumerist – Basically, there’s a clever way of searching on Amazon.com, where you can find deals on photography gear at massive discounts! Set your credit card to stun…
The trick is quite cunning – all you have to do is to hack the URL a little bit, allowing you to find deals with a certain percentage off the recommended retail price!
Collected in an useful list here:
- 90 percent off
- 80 percent off
- 70 percent off
- 60 percent off
- 50 percent off
- 40 percent off
- 30 percent off
- 20 percent off
- 10 percent off
Fabulous, yes? Of course, (forgive me for the ruthless nameplugging) you can also get my book at 35% off from Amazon :-)
Fabulous stuff. Thanks for the tip, Consumerist!

Anyone know if this can be done with other catagories, such as books, and if so, how one knows how to hack into the url?
Hmm, not a single Canon L series lens in the 90 percent off category…
Strange… :P
Awesome tip! I’ll definitely add this one to my blog as well.
bummer Andrew, I was thinking the same thing (but for Nikon)… really good deals on really crappy stuff… Cool tip though! I am sure with enough time on my hands I could find at least ONE thing that I could use! :)
Some of those in the 90% off category at least are ridiculously overpriced to begin with. Over $100 for a 256MB SD Card? It’s not a deal even with the 90% off.
it’s weird that i’m not jealous you wrote a book, simply that you have an author’s page on amazon.
It doesn’t work for amazon.co.uk unfortunately! It comes back saying nothing is avilable with x% off! Looks like the US has much better bargains!
They don’t ship to Australia . . . hello?!
