STUPID STUPID STUPID FREAKING GRRRRRRRHHHHHHHHH PIGS. This is when you call cops PIGS!!! OINK OINK OINK. I want to put a catch pole around their necks and drag them around for a while and see how they like it. I’ll stop short of saying I’d also like to shoot them in the head, but some kicks to the ribs would be in order.

It’s not that I get more upset about animal abuse than I do when F’ING PIGS abuse people but the dog wasn’t doing anything. He was wagging his tail. He was minding his own business. He wasn’t a threat.

Some part of me can remain neutral when I hear of human-on-human violence and murder. At least, I can tell myself, the playing field was sort of even. But, hearing about a human being murdering a dog makes my fucking blood boil. Dogs are the most innocent and loving creatures on Earth, examples of hope and love shining through the layer of muck on this grim and terrible world. Multiple people, and cops no less, ganging up and SHOOTING A CHAINED DOG just fucking sickens me. And she wagged her tail as she lay dying. This is the kind of thing that proves the human race is doomed.

Well, of course it makes a difference! Once you label a dog a “pit bull”, it’s like labelling a person “illegal immigrant” — people who might otherwise be sympathetic are turned into raging “shoot ‘em all!” maniacs.

The dog was shy (not even what I’d call “wary”), and showed absolutely no signs of aggression. Even when panicked by the catch pole, she only tried to pull away.

I work in a petstore and I not only work with dogs, I’ve trained multiple dogs. There is no way in hell that this dog was displaying any aggression whatsoever. It was scared and justly so. But, even under that kind of stress and fear it didn’t lash out in defense. What those officers did sickens me.

They should: 1) be fired yesterday for what can only be described as gross incompetence, 2) never be allowed to posses a firearm for the rest of their lives and, 3) be forced serve over 1,000 hours working in animal shelters.

Videos like this sicken me, so I couldn’t watch the it. If it happened as you said in the article though, the cops should be fired immediately, and charged with animal cruelty. This type of thing really pisses me off to no end.

The point is, police apologists are quick to demonize the victim of their abuse, and use terms that provoke the most antipathy.

I’ve seen aggressive dogs, that dog wasn’t one of them. It looked very sweet actually, even after being chased around and failing to evade the cop since it was chained it would lay down and relax.

Why shoot it after they went through the trouble of putting the net around it’s neck? One of them had their tazer out yet they used their pistol later on. Poor dog.

If any of the rest of you animals squander our donut time by resisting arrest, we’ll shoot you too.

This is sickening. Are cops defending them. There’s no excuse for what they did. That dog probably would have walked away joyfully if they hadn’t stuck a pole at him.

The police were the one who chained it up in the first place. This dog let the police pet him and willingly let them put the chain on him. He only got the least bit aggressive when a pole was stuck its face. But the video does show that the dog was friendly other than not liking a pole. Seriously, what the hell is wrong with these cops that they would kill a dog that was being nothing but friendly to them when they were up close?

The whole video sickens me. Those cops are easily the most bumbling, idiotic, incompetent excuses for cops I’ve ever seen. The cop with the pole had NO idea how to operate the thing, and then the both of them freaked out when the dog was upset after being caught on it?? Have they ever been around dogs??? The most disturbing thing to me was that the dog was COMPLETELY submissive when it was shot. It laid down, and rolled on its side. That is the most submissive position a dog can take.

I hope those two cops have their badges pulled, and they should never be allowed around animals again.

I am seriously afraid for the citizens of Lagrange if your officers cannot control their shameful actions with a dog secured on a catch pole. I am afraid that their incredible lack of judgement and discipline will only serve the citizens with danger, fear and more deadly gun play. Judgement such as this is nothing more than a strong indicator that these officers are not mature or wise enough to be serving and protecting in the capacity of peace officers.

Honestly they should have taken the Dog to the pound, Held it in a cage before gassing it to death. Millions of dogs are disposed of every year in this country in that manner. You’re an idiot. There are many reasons the dog could have been loose. Every animal that ends up at the pound is not abandoned and millions of pets are reclaimed from the pound every year.

I have no problem euthanizing animals who have been unclaimed for a substantial period of time. It’s better than keeping them on the tax payer dime to let them live out their natural lives. The other option is to just let them loose and fend for themselves.

Are you one of those people that sees no difference between people and animals? If so, be sure never to squish a bug, or even walk on your carpet where you might be murdering innocent microscopic creatures who did nothing to deserve that treatment.

Rance, at one time they were euthanized by hyperbaric chamber. At least in my jurisdiction, and this by the Humane Society. Of course, that may have been just the cats because that is the animals I remember seeing going into the chamber.

Many fails here Rich.

1. You’re assuming that I (or we) support the on going police actions of the US. I do not. You’re conflating two issues where no comparison should exist nor was it implied.
2. We pay cops to enforce the laws that are on the books, not play judge, jury and executioner. Shooting those dogs was not a matter of enforcing the law. It may very well be found after an investigation that they broke the law and acted outside the parameters of their duties.
3. We can see the facts of the case from the video. The dog was posing no threat that justified shooting it. It was compliant other than struggling against the pole. It was not even trying to attack the PIGS.
4. We, as Americans are entitled to free speech and our own opinions. We are not required to wait for a court of law and a jury verdict to tell us what to think. We can judge for ourselves. Juries convict innocent people and fail to convict guilty ones at times. Having an opinion on the matter is not the least bit un-American. Quite the opposite.
5. I do not want to kick these guys in the ribs and end their careers based on just an emotional response. I believe in the concept of justice. I have seen the video and judged the facts for myself as stated above.
6. I won’t even get in to all the spelling and grammar fails.

This cop was not some sheep that was mindlessly following orders to kill a helpless dog, he was an executioner on a power trip without conscience.

This dog wasn’t some vicious stray. It had an owner there at the trailer park. The owner may not have taken care of the dog like he/she should have, though the dog could have easily found a good home judging by her demeanor in this vid. Instead, she was restrained, and then shot by a cold, cruel, callous, and despicable human being.
