Create Personalized Greeting Cards

Printing your own greeting cards

How to Create Personalized Greeting Cards

With the holidays approaching it’s time to personalize your holidays with greeting cards with your own images instead of store bought generic cards. After all, you are a photographer and artist and this is the time of year to show it off to everyone you know.

Three Options for Creating Greeting Cards

Print Your Own: Control the Color

Everyone owns a printer that can print greeting cards. Printing your own cards has benefits in that it gives you complete control over color, content and changes can be made “on the fly”. Want to have different greetings for inside the cards, no problem, change the text in simple text editing programs.

My number one choice is Red River Paper greeting cards. This company is the leader in pre-scored blank cards ready to print inside and out. The information they provide including videos and step by step instructions on their website make this truly the easiest way to print beautiful cards. Bright colors truly “pop” on their paper. A favorite is the 53lb Premium Gloss. Printing can even be set up to go across the back of the card. The box comes complete with the instructions for printing and the matching envelopes can also be purchased on their website.

Another innovation that Red River has is the new greeting card on Polar Metallic paper that has cuts inside to put a 4x6 photo as a gift! These are also known as “frame cards”.

Photographers Edge Frame Cards

Turn your photographs into works of art when you showcase them in superior quality Photographer’s Edge photo frame greeting cards.

Amateur photographers and professional photographers can create high-quality matted photo greeting cards and photo calendars to give to loved ones or sell for a profit.

Choose from hundreds of designs and textures and personalize your photo card with your own verbiage, logo or signature. You can also create your very own photo frame greeting card design.

These frames require you have your prints and then put them inside the photo frame. They also provide a selection of holiday cards and borders on the cards.

ClearBags Frame Cards

Another source of frame cards can be found at Clearbags where there is a choice of black and white frame cards in ovals or rectangles.

Be sure to order your cards early and to order enough. It’s too hectic during the holidays to run out of cards. Compare the benefits of each type of card and decide for yourself which will best fit your needs or your photograph.
