f295 Pittsburgh PA - JUNE 2-5, 2011
21st Century Photography
If you think that the whole world has gone digital, you should know that there are a growing number of image-maker’s who want to play with the photography of old. For them, there is a renewed interest in all that was photography before digital. This is especially true in the case of younger photographers who want to explore the possibilities of early methods and who have a desire to penetrate the history in order to understand the full spectrum of photographic possibilities. From early processes such as Albumen, Daguerreotype, Calotype and Collodion to lensless photography such as pinhole and zone-plate as well as digital methods, the main interest of f295 is to preserve and explore the entire history of photographic imaging.
The history of photography provides a much larger source for image creation possibilities. There is so much more to photography than Digital. f295 is a look at those Alternatives.
