The old time professional photographers from the 19th and early 20th centuries took a hit when the first consumer cameras were introduced by Kodak. Professional photographers today are taking a hit with the advent of sophisticated consumer cameras and digital photography. If you're going to make it as a pro today you'd better be damned good!!
