Featured Pixiq Photographer: Haley Steinhardt
Haley Steinhardt is an avid photography hobbyist and former Dodd Camera salesperson. Currently, she is serving as the Senior Editor for Lark Photography Books in the lovely mountains of western North Carolina.
Haley is a self-taught photographer with a keen eye for interesting compositions. In the film days, her favorite roll was the delightfully grainy ILFORD DELTA 3200, and she often enjoys maxing out the ISO on her trusty Canon EOS Rebel XTi to achieve similar effects.
Black-and-white photography is one of Haley’s preferred imaging mediums, whether using the XTi’s dedicated Monochrome mode or converting to black and white later in Photoshop. Haley often seeks out strong architectural shapes and distinct textures to feature in her work, and she particularly loves achieving photographs in low light. Her current favorite subjects include cityscapes and shadows.
You can see more of Haley's work on her flickr page.

Beautiful black and whites! So dramatic. I love the clouds coming in over the building.
Thanks, Hannah!
Beautiful shots here. Of course, I am drawn to the horse's eye, but I love the gritty urban look of the other shots too.
Thanks for the feedback, Andrea. Cityscapes certainly make for intriguing subject matter, and I really love the way that texture can be featured in monochromatic imagery.
