Five Pixiq Posts You may have Missed
Highlights and Comments on Pixiq Posts
PIXIQ is a huge website and it's easy to miss some of the very best posts even if they are brand new. I have searched the site for some of the more interesting ones and give some comments here on those posts also.
This gave me a chill when I read it and took me back years ago when I taught photography in summer camps to children. This was the most fun project we did those summers and it's an especially good project to do with your own children. Now that I am reading it's in museums it gives me a special thrill to know that those children I worked with created art that is memorable.
2. Hand Coloring Your Digital Prints
A brand new post from a world class expert has just been published and I want to be sure you don't miss it. Ever since I discovered Theresa Airey and her books and work, I have been in awe of her. She is one of the worlds experts on print transfers and infrared and here she on PIXIQ and hardly anyone knows she is here. Her hints alone would fill a new book. "Blending and mixing colors can be done with your finger" is such a simple concept but so many are afraid to get their prints messy. She makes this all easy for you!
3. Oil Painting on Paper Prints
I discovered this Theresa Airey post that even I missed. Funny thing is I just discovered these paints myself and got some but never thought about using them for this! I love learning some new cutting edge art technique that I never knew about. This article clearly tells exactly how to do this and the materials needed.

Never let it be said that art is boring. Ellen Horowitz post on image transfers gives a new twist to toilet paper. Yes, you read that right. She gives you an easy and fun project that will keep you smiling. Would be a great party gag too when your friends come over. Use their pictures! Even has the Photoshop steps you need in this post. Run over there and think of all the great gifts you can make with this technique.
Heather Angel does it again with another compelling post on trees and 15 way to photograph them. Trees are one of the best selling prints on all the art sites. People love to own them, but few photograph them with originality and interest. The variety of what can be done with a tree in your camera is amazing. I loved the creativity she puts into this post and the tree images are simple beautiful. Enjoy!
There they are. Five that you should go check out. And don't forget to read my own post on the new Topaz Infocus Plugin that is on sale for a few more days.
Also I have been loading up my Fine Art Prints store just in time for the holidays. Swing by Fine Art America and see some of the newest uploads. Be sure to leave comments on the ones you like. And as always, say nothing about the ones you don't like!
