fotoflot Wall Prints [Review]

The fine folks at fotoflot were kind enough to send me a print (of my own work) for review.

Here is the 12.5″ X 15″ hanging in our bedroom.

fotoflot review

I really like how the image “floats” frame-less away from the wall. My wife really dug the look and is expecting a couple of companion pieces to complete the display area.

fotoflot uses magnets on acrylic mounted prints to create a modern take on displaying photographic images in your home or office.  By using mounted prints you forgo the glass and the glare that often accompanies it.

On the back of the mounted print are magnetic discs that snap onto the mounting bracket pictured below.

Very cool.  You’ll notice that curved slot that the screw on the right is affixed inside.  That allows the bracket to easily swing from horizontal to vertical so that prints can be swapped easily.

The print quality came back great.  The details in the greys look great and the shades shift wonderfully.  Very impressed with how the print looks hanging in our bedroom.

Ordering the print was a snap.  The fotoflot website is extremely easy to use and has tons of information available on their printing process as well as the minimum resolution for your intended size of print.

The only thing I wasn’t really crazy about was the print came ever so slightly curved.  It bows in just a little but I’m expecting that to straighten itself out over time.

Conclusion

The fotoflot system is certainly a different take on hanging your photographic works in your home or office.  It gives a different vibe than a canvas or matted and framed look.  The print quality is great and their website is a winner.  The prices are right where I’d expect them to be for the sizes.  You have to remember that you will be forgoing the cost of matting and framing and the prints are easily swapped out thanks to their magnetic mounting system.

We give fotoflot a

4 out of 5!

We really like fotoflot and recommend you check them out for your home or office.
