12 Easy Ways to create Art from your Photographs
Art from Photographs with Postworkshop
I totally admit I am addicted to taking an image and then recreating it from top to bottom. There are lessons I have been posting here on Postworkshop but that was just the beginning. Now I have learned how to create my own special recipes (styles) and how to share them with others for FREE! There is a place for this in my work because it's fast, fun and is totally different from everything else I use.
Before I start with an image I first use enhancement filters in Photoshop like Topaz Adjust 5 or any of the Topaz filters and also all the Nik Software filters. These two power houses do all the corrections or enhancing I need to start my art project. I might even play with some of the Auto FX Mystical suite! But when it's time to "paint" I use Corel Painter and Postworkshop. They are both very different at creating art and each has it's own strengths. These create true art!
One of my favorite STYLES I am using is one I saved and am sharing with you all. It's my new MS_ARTSKETCH

Notice on the right side under PROPERTIES there are a lot of choices. Be sure to go to ART SKETCH VARIATIONS SKETCH where the number 4 is now. You can change this one to other variations by moving the slider. Now think also about the color. In Photoshop you can change the colors using HUE/SATURATION to anything you want including doing a more subdued black and white sketch.
Another variation of it:

Here is one I did by desaturation but letting through the little bits of color with a layer mask. After that I ran it through Topaz Adjust 5 the Venice mode and then added a layer mask to bring back the eyes sharper and more brilliant.
You will have a lot of fun with this STYLE!
The 12 Styles I created are FREE and there is also a free pdf of instructions and samples of each one. The Postworkshop PRO edition is the one I use and it's not only priced very reasonable but you can use a discount code to buy it! All of this is available at the Digital Paint Shop where you will also find free textures and free brushes for Painter 12. What more could you ask for at this time of year!
