Gallery: Animal Love-ins
Amorous animals
© Heather Angel – After the drab female mandarin duck flattens herself in the water, the resplendent male leaps on her back.
For weeks, countless column inches and photos have been devoted to the Royal Wedding. The best I can do to tie in with the fast approaching Royal nuptials is a collection of amorous animals. Virtually all the images were a brief moment in time captured after time spent observing the animals behaving and anticipating they might perhaps interact. My favorite is the pair of Siberian tigers nuzzling. One moment they were walking side by side and then the female turned her head towards her mate for a second or two before they separated.

They are all lovely pictures, but if I had to make a choice it would be either of the tigers or the Whooper swans. Why can't I ever get pictures like that? OK I know the answer to that one!
