Gingrich Staffer Strikes Photographer's Camera In South Florida

For the second time this month, a member of Newt Gingrich’s campaign assaulted a member of the public for video recording them.

The first time took place in New Hampshire just over two weeks ago and resulted in a pair of activists educating police on the right to video record cops inside the lobby of a police station.

The second time took place Wednesday in South Florida as Gingrich was making a speech while a woman in the crowd continually heckled him.

The incident takes place at the very end of the above video in front of two cops.

According to the Shark Tank blog, assault charges might be filed against Karin Hoffman, Gingrich’s Broward County Co-Chair:

Karin Hoffman, Gingrich’s Broward County Co-Chair (previously been featured here on the Shark Tank) attempted to try to diffuse the situation. Unfortunately, Hoffman only compounded the situation when she grasped at the woman and put her hand on her, prompting the woman to object. Another campaign advance man stepped in to explain to her that her safety could be in danger, and she took offense and tried to turn it around on the campaign.

Inexplicably, Hoffman turned around and struck the photographer and the video camera, right in front of two police officers.(End of video) Assault charges could be forthcoming, and it’s fair to ask if she is suited to be representing Newt Gingrich in Broward County.

No one ever seems to get the terminology right. when you physically strike someone, or something on their person such as a hand held camera, it is called battery. Assault would be physical intimidation and threatening behavior that indicate an imminent violence. Waving a baseball bat at you would be assault, but striking you with it would be battery. So battery charges would be filed here as the video didn't indicate assault so much, just an unexpected grabbing (and then striking of the camera at the very end).

What if they use dead car battery to hit a photographer? Would they be charging a battery then?

It's still relevant to the video for those that are interested.

Wouldn't threatening behavior result in a charge of "menacing"?

Depends on the local laws..

It depends on the state. For example, New York does not have separate assault and battery laws anymore. It's all assault.

I wonder if she has any relation to Abbie Hoffman, one of my childhood heroes. I doubt as she comes off as a rich, hard woman.

Love Abbie, wish he was still here...

That has nothing to do with the story. The altercation was between the campaign aide and the photographer. The rest of the clip is just noise.

Wow genius...thanks for pointing that out.

We have issues here as well with government appointees showing fear of photography shining a light on their activities.
This is from today's Washington Post.

Her brave stand mimics the same tactics as the TEA party, but now its not OK. Give me a break and more power to her

I love how this video starts with "This is a free country" and ends with his staffer violating somebody's rights.

Well played, editor.

Newt Gingrich: New World Order Shill
By Doug Burrow

The mainstream media is now in full swing, busy doing their job--helping the Masters of the World elect a president of the U.S.A.. So far, they are holding out the current Puppet in Chief, Mr. Barak Husein Obama, and on the "other" side they are holding up Mitt Romney (whose Massachusetts Romney Care program--which has put the state another 1+ billion dollars in debt--was the model Mr. Obama chose to model his own socialized medicine plan on), and of course, Newt Gingrich, the former Speaker of the House who, while reforming wellfare, was also busy installing NAFTA and helping to open the way for the creation of a North American Union. Sure, Michele Bachmann is in, but everybody "knows" that she's a "Tea Party Lunatic!," and therefore to not be taken seriously, and then we have Jon Huntsman, another Insider, and Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota who appears to be just now putting the final touches of his political face-lift and transforming himself into a conservative. Oh, did I almost forget? Ron Paul is getting almost no attention from the NWO propagandists (mainstream media), and then only if he is cast in a negative light.

Today I would like to highlight Newt Gingrich. I would like to point out that Gingrich' voted for NAFTA, and that should come as no suprise, as he has been a member of the Council of Foreign Relations which is just an American branch of the British Round Table. These folks have been pushing for World Government since the days of Cecil Rhodes (who died in 1902 and whose money made the Roudtable conspiracy possible in conjunction with Freemason Lord Nathan Rothschild's assistance as trustee). The New World Order (NWO) mob have been nothing if not consistent and persistent. Rhodes' (also a Freemason) Round Table would push for world government under the auspices of Anglo/American rule and for a utopian society brought forth by Masonic principals and Malthusian Eugenics (population control, and weeding out undesirable people and races--Planned Parenthood is a large piece of this puzzle, funded by Rothschild cohorts the Rockefellers). It should come as no suprise that many in this circle also backed the Bolshivik Revolution and Hitler's rise to power.

Not only is Gingrich a Washington Insider, a member of the CFR, but he is also a 33rd Degree Freemason. Oh, and he was a "guest" of the Bohemian Grove 1999 Summer Encampment (along with other notables such as President George Bush, Texas Gov. George W. Bush, Henry Kissinger, retired Gen. Colin Powell, and Dow Chemical Chairman Frank Popoff.

Okay, but all that's just good fun, right? The fellas playing dress-up in robes, secret handshakes, a little Molock worship (ala Bohemian Grove). Forgive and forget, right? Just so long as he doesn't consort with such as the Bilderberg Group! Oops, right. He did address the Bilderbergers in 1999 as well! It's not like he was there to hang out with the NWO crowd. Oh, yeah, except for Gary Hart, former Secretary of Defense William Cohen, Chris Dodd, Colin Powell, Henry Kissenger, David Rockefeller, Richard Holbrooke, and ...

Well, at least he's not a proponent of New Age Environmentalism. But then again, like his friend Al Global Warming Gore, he is:

Newt Gingrich wrote in many of his official bio’s for conservative causes that his degree was in “history.” In actuality, it was in the New Age full employment program of “Environmental Studies.” In the mid 1980s, Mark Satin, author of NEW AGE POLITICS and NEW OPTIONS newsletter gave “Internationalist” rankings for Congressmen. Heading the list with the best “internationalist” voting records in Congress were Newt Gingrich and Marcy Kaptur, a Congresswoman from Toledo, Ohio. - NEWT GINGRICH, THE NEW AGE, GLOBAL CIVIL SOCIETY AND GLOBAL GOVERNANCE

It is obvious that despite conservative rhetoric and even many conservative votes in the past, Newt Gingrich is another NWO/Washington Insider who, if elected, will further their agenda. To vote for him, or Mitt Romney as far as that goes, would be to vote for politics as usual, another false choice, you know, like Obama/McCain...

It makes no sense for her to swat at the camera, she must just be a bitch. From what I saw the camera person was doing what GOOD media should, which is recording what was happening WITHOUT injecting any of his own political opinion. I can understand her getting upset with loudmouth lady who was obviously some kind of opposition plant but the guy with the camera had nothing to do with that, at least it didn't seem so. If I was there and had a camera I would have taken video of that woman too, that's what you do as media, go for anything that stands out.

Why would someone end the video at that point? What happened after that? Why didn't we see the staffer's response to the photographer's question? Makes me wonder what the editor is keeping from us.

My spouse and I unquestionably adore your weblog and uncover almost all of your post's to get precisely what I'm seeking. Would you offer you visitor writers to put in writing material to suit your needs? I wouldn't mind writing a article or elaborating on a lot of the subjects you compose in relation to listed here. Again, amazing weblog! http://www.xtremewalls.com
