How To Take Casual Paparazzi Photos
Or, Camera Phones and Why They are Awesome
Step 1: Eat at the best BBQ joint in town. (In Asheville, this is 12 Bones.)
Step 2: Make sure the celebrity (in this case, Chris Robinson of The Black Crowes) seats himself easily within your viewing range.
Step 3: Ensure you have a foreground subject--this tricks the celebrity into thinking that maybe you are not taking a photo of them, and thus they become more at ease in their surroundings.
Step 4: Ignore the advice from the newsroom (no babies, no puppies) and make sure that celebrity has a cute baby on their lap.
Step 5: Take the shot.
Step 6: Remind self to download an app that allows you to zoom in on far-away subjects.
Step 7: Download the shot to your desktop, and then circle the celebrity so that all of your friends don't think you are full of s*&t.
Step 8: Post on all major social media sites in order to earn your 15 seconds of bragging rights.

Kara,
I'd get to step 1 and then I might forget the rest of it.
Great BBQ is great BBQ!
Fully agree! This is actually the place I was telling you and Ed you both have to try. Amazing!
Oh, it's on my list. And the technique of using a friend up front as sort of a Trojan Horse to get a shot of someone in the distance is something I utilize all the time. Great tip.
this is hilarious!! I need to get some Apps, better yet, a new phone;-)
