Bruce Davidson - On Street Photography

"Everybody Street”

Bruce Davidson is a street photographer of the highest order. He sits at the top with Gary Winogrand, Lee Friedlander, Robert Frank, Helen Levitt and others. His beautiful black and white photography has influenced thousands of photographers. His work documents among other things, the streets of New York since the 1950's. As a Magnum photographer and as a freelance image maker, he has photographed such things as the Selma March to Montgomery during the civil rights movement, the circus in Palasades, NJ, Teenage Gangs in Brooklyn, and the living conditions of East 100th Street in New York.
