The George Eastman House Gift Shop
X-Ray Glasses & Other Treats
The last place I expect to find a pair of X-Ray Glasses, a staple in the back of the comic books of my youth, is in the stately and revered George Eastman House International Museum of Photography and Film.
But there they were, the X-Ray Spex, among so many other wonderful, delightful, and educational items in their Gift Shop. Oh, the breathtaking photo exhibits, the interesting cameras on display, the incredible film collection shown in the Dryden Theater, and just the house itself are more than enough to make this a destination target for anyone with any interest in photography or motion pictures.
But if you do go there, make sure you leave enough time to wander through the wonderful and sheer joyful gift shop. A lot of thought went into finding these photo delights. Some serious, some not.
At this time of the year, is there a better place to do holiday shopping for your favorite photographer, even if that photographer is you?
This is the first of what will be a continuing series of videos that will take you to interesting places and events in the wide world of photography.
If you enjoy this and can think of other interesting photo destinations, just let me know.
