LAPD chief opposes tougher laws against paparazzi

For once, a high-ranking police officer is defending photographers.

This surprising revelation arose Thursday as several Los Angeles officials convened to discuss creating tougher laws against celebrity photographers.

Los Angeles Police Chief William Bratton called the new proposals a “farce”, blaming celebrities and their eccentric behavior for creating the paparazzi frenzy.

“If you notice, since Britney started wearing clothes and behaving; Paris is out of town not bothering anybody anymore, thank God, and evidently, Lindsay Lohan has gone gay, we don’t seem to have much of an issue,” Bratton told KNBC-TV.

Bratton said the altered behavior makes proposals being considered for new laws to crack down on paparazzi an unnecessary “farce” because photogs who swarm neighborhoods and shopping districts have been losing interest in snapping stars in trouble.

Lindsey Lohan has gone gay?  Where was I when that groundbreaking news broke?

Thankfully, somebody in L.A. has some common sense because Los Angeles City Councilman Dennis Zine – a former LAPD sergeant – has proposed a “personal safety zone” for celebrities.

Zine created the task force that consists of officials from Beverly Hills, Malibu and Calabasas – well-known celebrity enclaves -  in his attempt to crack down on celebrity photographers.

Their goal is for each city to adopt its own ordinances to punish aggressive paparazzi, while keeping the rules uniform in the places where celebrities live, work and play.

Bratton is an idiot who apparently hates celebrities

Bratton should do as he is told and uphold the law and shut up-he is not paid to make stupid comments.

He was a Moron in NY and is a Moron in Los Angeles-the likes of people like him with lesser intelligence should not be in positions of power, and relegated to positions of servitude.

To even make light of the situation of these paparazzi criminals, should make us question if he is on the side of justice or on the side of those who are perpetrating crimes.

EVERYONE in Los Angeles knows how these paparazzi criminals harass, berate, provoke and lie to law enforcement to create better stories to go with those photos they have taken of the celebrity they have just chased.

For Bratton to disregard the truth sheds light on his abilities to enforce the law.

He should be removed from his position!!
