How about this then? A softbox that attaches directly to a flashgun and can work on- or off-camera. It’s the new baby from Lastolite, measuring 20 x 22cm. And even then it folds up practically flat, the same as all of Lastolite’s Ezybox softboxes.

The hotshoe-mounted softbox has two removable diffusion layers, inner and outer, and is available all for around £50. Seeing as Lastolite make a whole host of lighting and background products, it should be pretty flexible and easy to use.
