Lensbaby Image Examples: Oil Field Graveyard
I got many requests to show you guys some of the photos I’ve taken with the Lensbaby Composer so I thought I’d share a couple with you. Both of the images were taken at an oil field dumping ground or graveyard. It’s not too far from where I live and I’d been itching to head out there anyway. I thought it’d be great to see what the Lensbaby could do with decay as opposed to beauty.
I really enjoyed this one in both black and white and in color but ultimately went with black and white. The moodiness really seemed to resonate with me and I appreciated that these tanks had probably been here for many, many years. Black and white can really add a timelessness and increased drama to images.
This image, while it isn’t one of my favorites, does a great job of showing the dreaminess and selective focus that the Lensbaby can produce. The lines are okay and the composition is kinda meh, but there’s enough going on in the image to see where the focal point is and how the plane kinda bends in.

I have a Lensbaby I play around with from time to time. I have a handful in a Flickr set here ->http://www.flickr.com/photos/tubaism/sets/72157613752118497/
I love the blurred effect that the lensbaby creates. Very cool piece of equipment.
The black and white with the lensbaby really gives it a surreal effect. I love the focal points of these shots and the lensbaby makes it so easy.
Those foggy effects have good influence on that pictures. They give additional climate to them. I like them both - black and wite as much as the colorur.
