Lightroom 2.4 with video support

aprilfool.jpg

In a surprise move, Adobe have announced that Lightroom 2.4 will come with video support for newer DSLR cameras. Citing this new trend as a reason for including this feature, Lightroom Product Manager Tom Hogarty says “Well with recent changes in my family, I wanted to be able to get access to video inside Lightroom, along with my wonderful baby pictures”. Lightroom is capable of both playback and minor editing of video and will support FLV and MOV files initially with more to follow in future versions.

Per Adobe request: Okay.. rumbled way too quick on this one folks.. April Fools.. In fairness, there’s no link to any announcement, nor does Tom ever announce things so casually. Anyway, best wishes to Tom and his family!

I know they tried hard to get this out by the end of March, I guess they’ll just have to settle for very early April.
