Meet Five Top Photographers at photokina
Manfrotto School of Xcellence hosts presentations and portfolio reviews
If you're going to photokina later this month (the bi-annual photography trade fair is being held in Cologne, Germany from September 21 - 26, 2010), make your way to Hall 5.1, to the Manfrotto theatre and booth. Photographers Bill Frakes (www.billfrakes.com), Joe McNally (www.joemcnally.com), Robert Bigano (www.bigano.com), Uwe Statz (http://www.panoramafotografie-statz.de/), and Drew Gardner (www.drew.it) will be presenting during the show at the Manfrotto School of Xcellence Theatre. In addition to the presentations, portfolio reviews will be offered at the Manfrotto School of Xcellence Booth. Frakes and McNally will be doing portfolio reviews in the mornings, while Bigano, Statz and Gardner will offer critiques in the afternoon.
If you aren't familiar with these photographers, read on...
Bill Frakes is a Sports Illustrated staff photographer who also shoots advertising and editorial photography. Joe McNally is an internationally known photographer who's work has been published in TIME, Newsweek, Fortune and National Geographic, among other publications; he is also an author of photography books. Robert Bigano has been photographing Manfrotto products for the company's brochures and other advertising needs, almost exclusively for the last two decades. He specializes in multi-shot medium format photography. Uwe Statz saw his first panoramic image over a decade ago and has been hooked on creating them ever since. He also specializes in Macro, Landscape and HDR (High Dynamic Range) photography. Derw Gardner is a people photographer who is equally at home in the studio or on location.
Hour long, one-on-one workshops are also being offered. If you're interested, book your session online at www.manfrottoschoolofxcellence.com or directly at the booth. Because space is limited, attendees are urged to sign up in advance.
