Miami Beach Police Refusing To Arrest Chris Brown For Snatching Fan's iPhone
The Miami Beach Police Department has no problem arresting or pointing guns at photographers who point their lenses at police officers.
But apparently they have trouble arresting women-beating celebrities who snatch cameras from citizens.
Singer Chris Brown, whose biggest hit so far is Rihanna’s face, is accused of snatching an iPhone from a fan who was attempting to photograph him outside a Miami Beach nightclub. He then drove off with the phone.
According to NBC Miami:
Police responded at 4:43 a.m. They listed the offense as a “robbery by sudden snatching,” and said the incident would be further investigated.
The woman, Christal Spann, and her friends followed Brown and rapper Tyga outside, where she saw him get into his black Bentley, according to a Miami Beach Police report. Spann approached Brown and took a photo with her $500 white iPhone 4S while he was sitting in his car.
Then the surly hip-hop star reached through the window, took her cell phone from her hands, and said, “B**** you ain’t going to put that on no website,” Spann told police.
He put up his window, drove west on Espanola Way, and north on Washington Avenue, police said.
Members of his entourage said Brown didn’t want photos of him flirting with two groupies to become public because he is trying to reconcile with the women he severely beat in 2009.
Even though five people witnessed the incident that took place on February 19, police have yet to make an arrest.
Police, however, are blaming the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office.
But a source within the State Attorney’s Office blamed police for not making the arrest, according to the Miami Herald.
Why didn’t the police grow a pair and arrest him when the complaint was drawn?” a high-ranking State Attorney’s staffer said Wednesday. “That’s how you do it.”
It’s not the first time police have displayed favoritism towards Brown. In 2009, after he was arrested for beating up Rihanna, Los Angeles police leaked a photo of her battered face, but refused to release his mugshot.

they wouldnt arrest him cuz mr brown beez having some big black guys wit him, and the popo beez sceered of dem...they might actually hit back! whereas whitey, or in your case kinda whitey, is a law abiding citizen and therefore and easy target for bullies, i.e. cops...
Humor fail.*
*I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt that it was an attempt at humor.
That's one idiotic possibility.
A more likely reason is that Brown drove off and was a known subject so police figured they would write it up and the DA's office would indict him like they do with all other felonies where an arrest wasn't made at the scene.

you're right; story one, cop runs away. he can drive but not shoot back. coward. story 2 NOLA cop. who cares. the feds had to take over their shop cause their murdering scum back shooters. you know . cowards. got anymore heros goober?
If the girl was shoving a camera in his face close enough he could reach out and grab it than she deserved what she got. Maybe she could even be charged with assault, and I can't stand Chris Brown, or Rhianna.
Sounds like he drove off before the police arrived anyways so how were they supposed to arrest him?
Can't tell if trolling or just stupid...
By this same logic, since your comment annoys me, I can come to your house and steal your computer?
Hey, you are just getting what you deserve right?
Getting close to someone in a public place and snapping a picture: Not a crime (first amendment).
Accidentally touching someone while snapping a picture: Misdemeanor at worst (fourth degree assault).
Stealing a camera out of someone's hand and fleeing the scene: Felony (second degree robbery).
What is it with you and being soft on criminals, while wanting to see charges filed against their victims?
