My daily rag: journaling and then some
Instagram image of old cash register in River Arts section of Asheville, NC
The other day, I recieved a gift from Pixiq. This was unexpected and as most artists know, journaling can be a form of art or a means to that end. It gave me pause as I touched the vellum quality of the leaves of this blank book. I haven't kept a journal in a while and I committed right then and there to journal a page a day, using the techniques out of my new book, Digital Image Transfer: Creating Art With Your Photography. Do you remember the photographer that shot the same image in the same place for 365 days? Well, I figured this could be a variation on that theme. And while some might not be interested in my wanderings, it may give new meaning to combining photography and journaling.
So in case the reader is at all interested in what I wrote, here it is:
"Things that are deteriorating enchant me. perhaps it is because the broken-down structure reminds me so much of myself. Like the rust-colored register keys, frozen up by time, I, too, am hardened into a shape, sealed over and entombed by time."
(The image was done using a Citrasolv transfer- laser output of the original instagram image transferred onto the white leaves of this journal.- I titled it: "Ka'Ching/Asheville cash register."

As always, ever art, and light on.
