A man known as RadioReport1 on Youtube has been waging a war against the New York City Police Department since 2007 when he claims he was “beaten, robbed and kidnapped” for taking photos.
This, of course, probably explains his antagonistic attitude towards them when they approach him while videotaping.
Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
It’s actually pretty humorous considering he comes across as a modern-day Travis Bickle.
While he can stand to hold a steadier camera, he doesn’t lack courage in standing up to the cops.
In the above video, he was videotaping a car accident when an Officer Floyd came up to him and started harassing him for filming the bridge behind the accident scene, as if he were a terrorist plotting to blow it up or something.
The cop comes across as a complete moron. The action starts about 1:55 into the video. It’s funny.
The two videos below were posted in 2008 where he gets in a confrontation with an NYPD officer who dared question him while videotaping and a confrontation with a K9 officer who claimed to be a private contractor.
This is how he explains the first video below:
This was the second day they had traffic stops on a busy street with no vehicle to block the lane, making an unsafe condition for the motorists they pulled over.
I was going to fix a bike on the corner and put my camera on top of a box of tools I was carying and walked past them and then back.
The officer saw the camera and came over to ask if I was filming, giving some nonsense about making sure everything was OK.
When I pressed him on why he felt something was wrong, he told me he didn’t have to explain and called over his partner in the middle of a traffic stop on a blue Mitsubishi.
At the end, I just walked away from them, but taped them again, standing in the roadway making an unsafe condition.
As I went back to my house, I turned and saw them coming after me. I ran into the first alley and escaped into a nearby basement, which they followed me into and told the owner I was wanted for questioning.
By that time I was on the roof escaping down and out to my house.
The night before, they had followed a law abiding neighbor from the store to see if the beer he bought was open as he chatted outside the house, making him turn it over.
If that wasn’t enough, they had a gunpoint robbery where the guy ran a full block in view of the surveilance tower thay had set up, putting the gun away right where I was confronted, running right past them and they couldn’t catch him.
This is the second time I’ve had to run from them in recent weeks for taking pictures not anywhere near them.
The precinct robbery car chased me for not stopping when they saw me take a picture while they were on an improper car stop.
They broke into the building and rattled all the doorknobs while leaving the motorist hanging outside.
As I was beaten robbed and kidnapped by them last year, I don’t wait around for them to erase the camera so they could lie about it as they did last year.
Dude, learn to (a) hold the camera still, (b) keep it pointed at the subject and (c) stop carrying that bag of potato chips or whatever it is that’s making the crackling sound.
Not running around all over the place while videoing might be a good plan, too.
That aside, Officer Floyd is a dead ringer for Cleveland Brown.
Man – that guys is an ass. One thing to confront a cop who harasses you but you don’t have to start out that way. He is no better than those monkey-cops who get at you immediately.
A reality TV comedy show in the making. People are such morons when they see someone with a camera. If they aren’t doing anything wrong they have nothign to worry about.

HAha. This guy is such an antagonist. Aside from learning to hold a camera steady and move around less, he needs to learn to just calmly assert his rights when questioned by the police. He should be learning to control his temper. Instead, he’s egging them on, just begging to get wrongfully arrested. Here’s a guy who wants a day in court, he just hasn’t been able to catch the cops on video yet. It’s both good and bad that he’s dragging that video camera around. Good, because it keeps the cops from beating him up again, and bad, because it keeps the cops cautious, so they don’t do anything on film that they could lose their job over, which is exactly the aim of the photographer.
In this particular video, as well as a couple of the other videos his aggressive or antagonistic approach is what, I think, saves his butt from being hassled further. Cops rely on a certain level of intimidation at all times expecting most people to roll over when they bark. This guy clearly approaches with attitude that he is not going to roll, knows his rights with confidence (doesn’t waste time getting into semantic arguments with officers), and goes about his business making it clear that he isn’t going to be bothered with Officer Floyd. I think as a result, the cops he deals with are in a way intimidated by him.
I don’t think he is an ass, the cop is an ass, a fat ass! These stupid cops are going to have someone clock them one when they start harrassing them. It really takes piss when the filth stands in the crosswalk with his hands in his pockets doing nothing, yea, the filth work hard to protect us peons. The one consolation is that his royal heaviness will more than likely die of a heart attack before he starts to draw a public pension, therefore saving the tax payers some money.
1. Photography from a public sidewalk is perfectly legal – the photographer does not need a press pass. There is no yellow tape restricting access.
2. Photography OF the New York bridges from public sidewalks is perfectly legal. It is true that some bridges have “No Photo” signs – which I detest but I will leave that for another rant – but there are NO LAWS against taking pictures OF the bridge from below. The signs only apply to motorists or pedestrians on the bridge itself.
Why are these cops/security guards in all of these videos posted here, still employed?? Do the victims of this harassment ever file complaints? lawsuits? Does anything ever happen to these morons?
From what I understand, a cameraman at the base of the bridge in nearby Astoria Park had a bridge cop come out and tell him he couldn’t take pictures of the huge bridge in the middle of a very public park.
Nothing happens because if you allege felony assault by a cop, they don’t send it to the DA for prosecution, they send it to the CCRB which has at the end of the line, the NYPD commish.
He did not know it was a movie as the cameraman pretended to be taking still pictures, so the cam had to keep moving. Face and sound recorded, all that’s needed.
And the bag of chips is actually a clip for holding onto the cam, not usually heard when the cam is used as it should be
there has to be a way to “make a federal case about it” – get another, higher authority to start taking this crap seriously, attorney general, maybe? i know the FBI is supposed to police the police police (IAB) – but how often does this ever happen?
We have been comparing QIK to USTREAM for our upcoming “Earn $100 – At Least – For Filming Cops… In Boise!” Contest, and are going to recommend QIK to prospective contestants.
Either service negates the gambit of seizing your camera and / or deleting images; but we found QIK superior.

If they delete you can use San Disk’s Reacue Pro or EASUS makes a program that will bring back the whole drive.
Sometimes this isn’t easy as it comes back corrupted. Videolan plays this OK
I’m going thru this in Fed court, I’m asking for some sort of punishment and relief from there being 2 movies in the camera that weren’t on the disk that the DA gave containing the camera’s contents
Hey Officer Floyd, you fat fucking maggot…do your job and stop worrying about insignificant things that are none of your business!!! And to the idiot who said talk about provoking the law, you’re even worse…the law shouldn’t be provoked by somebody filming or taking pictures!! Modern day cops are more likely to commit crimes than the average citizen, and with all of the beatings, harassment, and power trips, someone should be filming them at all times. Maybe it’s time to do something better with your time there Floyd…get to the gym so you can serve your bosses(private citizens) better!!

Ballsy.
you should check out Jimmy Justice @ http://www.youtube.com/user/JimmyJustice4753 . He’s been profiled on MSNBC and in the Washington Post.

If he followed the above advice, they could make a sitcom out of his tapes.
Jimmy Justice has been mentioned on this blog before.

I loved every bit of it!
They’ll cut him some slack while they’re out in public but once the witnesses are gone WATCH OUT!!
Ya gotta love the stones that the citizens of NY have!
Doesn’t the NYPD have weight requirements though?

As long they own stock in Dunk’n Donuts they don’t have to meet any weight requirements!
The cop is wrong on several levels:
He’s already stated it by coming over. Why would somebody filming need his help?
Hal. you just don’t get it. How was the guy being antagonistic when the cops came over to mess with him when there was no need.
As far as catching the cops, he’s a thirty year veteran of street crime pictures and daily cop abuse.
You sound like a clueless American shooting off a big ignorant mouth like many do.
After 30 years of abuse you don’t think the guy will be polite to what clearly is a thug who shouldn’t be there in his way or anywhere near him?

It’s like complaining to the Mafia about hit men.

The bridge cop was lying. Unfortunately the photographer believed the lie and probably did not file a complaint.

Anyone have an opinion on which mobile phone shoots the best quality video to stream live to Qik?
YES! I’m about to update to a new phone and this seems like an excellent objective to pursue.

Talking about provoking the law on work.Bust the filmer and forget him.Its just another looser …
