Nikon 1 Camera Firmware Updates
Nikon has released firmware updates to its Nikon 1 cameras, the J1 and V1
Nikon has released a firmware update to its Nikon 1 cameras, the J1 and V1, taking the firmware to version 1.10, which adds support for the FT-1 Mount Adapter that enables Nikkor lenses with an 'F' mount to be used with the cameras, plus there is a new a pixel mapping feature to correct for the appearance of 'hot' pixels in an image. Along with the firmware updates, Nikon has posted detailed instructions on the use of the FT-1, together with a list of compatible Nikkor lenses, along with instructions for applying the pixel mapping function (see links below).
It is worth noting that the FT-1 imposes significant restrictions on AF operation of both cameras, since it is stated that "Autofocusing is possible when AF-S lenses are used. However, focus mode must be set to AF-S (Single AF) and AF-area mode is fixed at Single-point with only the center focus point used.."

Furthermore, using the FT-1 results in other limitations as, " shooting in Motion Snapshot is only possible when focus has been acquired with an AF-S lens…" plus "... the Smart Photo Selector function cannot be used".
