The intergoogles are awash with rumours regarding the mirror-less camera that Nikon seems to have under development at the moment. The word is that the beast will be unleashed in April this year, with the target market being very definitely pro and not amateur.

It would seem that Nikon doesn’t want to take on the Micro Four-Thirds market, but instead is trying to forge its own posse of mirror-less pro exponents. It has identified its gap in the market. That, and it won’t detract from their already lucrative entry-level dSLR shoppers. Why pitch your own cameras against one set of consumers, hey?

Supposedly the camera will use a Sony sensor. I suppose that we’ll just have to wait and see.
