Shiny orange Pentax Optio WG1-GPS
Make sure you’ve your sunglasses before looking at the pictures of this one. It’s the new bright, shiny orange version of Pentax’s just-about-anything-proof camera, the WG1-GPS. Very bright and very shiny. It has a bright orange, glossy front panel that’s edged with contrasting gunmetal rubber. Unless you drop it into a vat of orange juice, you should be able to find it pretty easily.
If you want the run-down on the WG1-GPS, sit tight. It’s waterproof to 10 metres; shockproof to 1.5 metres; coldproof (is that really a word?) to -10°C; dustproof; and crushproof to 100kg. Camera-wise, it has a 14 megapixel sensor; 5x wide-angle optical zoom; and makes HD videos. Of course, being go-anywhere, do-anything, it can geotag your images, too.
And in case you don’t want it in bright orange, you can have it grey or green, too. The orange version will be available from early August, at a recommended price of £299.99.
