Photography books can be a very good source for both inspiration and for technical knowledge. There are so many photography books out there that I thought we could start a little photography book club.

Here’s how it works.

I will pick out a photography book to order and read for a review.

You guys will know ahead of time which book I will be reviewing so that, if you’re interested in that particular aspect of photography, you can also order and read it as well.

This way, before I publish the review you can send me your review of the book as well so that all of the other readers can get more than one perspective of the book.

Our first book in the Your Photo Tips Book Club is Camera Lucida: Reflections on Photography by Roland Barthes as translated by Richard Howard.

Admittedly this is a classic, albeit tough read, to start the photography book club but well worth adding to your collection (or a great starter if you have no collection).

This book is for the artist and philosopher in you. If you’re interested in participating in the book club and wish to order a copy here is where you can purchase Camera Lucida.

We’ll give it about three weeks before the review for those who wish to order so you have ample time to get it in and consume the book.
