I have to admit that I wasn’t very fond of this whole HDR thing because most of the images from the beginning of this type of photography were just too much. It’s photographers like Captain Kimo and images like River Bend Park that make me reconsider how I look at this type of photography.

Well, you know, that was a great image. So it was well deserved.
It's always good advice to hold a camera and see how it "feels", play with the menus and see if the user interface makes sense to you.
