PhotoPlus Expo 2011 Roundup: Day One
Busy day with tons of people. The general vibe at PhotoPlus this year is a mixed bag. There are very few WOW announcements that have people really buzzing. That said, there's still and air of excitement and fun that seems to occur at events like this despite the weather and the turnout.
I've kept my ear to the ground and did enough walking and talking to last for days and I'm heading back into the fray tomorrow, so whatever I may have missed will end up getting covered then...I hope.
Again, I'll go deeper into each of these products and services in the coming days but I wanted to point out a few notable booths you'll want to stop by if you're heading to PhotoPlus in the next couple of days.
First up is the Polaroid booth. They have some pretty cool flashes that I think many video DSLR users will want to explore.
If you're an event photographer think about heading to the Mitsubishi booth to have a look at their high speed instant photo printers. It's an interesting take on what photographers can do for on-location printing.
Of course Canon had a huge presence at the Expo and there are tons of cameras and printers to look at. With the announcement of the Canon 1D X everyone was asking to see it. Sadly, it's behind lock and key and not on the showroom floor. That means most people won't be lucky enough to get their grubby little paws on that bad boy. Which is kinda sad because it's a beauty in your hands.
Of course there's the Moo.com booth where you can see some of the cool things they're doing with business cards and postcards. I use their business cards and love them!
I stopped by the 500px booth just to say hi to +Evgeny Tchebotarev and congratulate him and his team on the wonderful work they're doing.
Plus, I sporadically hung out at our Pixiq booth to talk to people about our Pixiq books and the Pixiq.com website. It was great getting to be in touch with so many people throughout the day.
Don't forget that Friday at 11AM if you stop by the Pixiq booth #485 you'll have a chance to win prizes! Say hi to the team that brings you quality photographic knowledge (and I'll be there too)!
