Proof: Media for Social Justice
Benefit Photography Auction
Proof is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting social change through photography. As it says on it’s home page Proof “uses photography as means to inform and educate global audiences about human rights. Powered by a strong belief that visual media is a unique and potent tool in the fight for human rights, we empower future generations to work for social change.
Our work focuses on individuals whose lives have been dramatically altered by violence or genocide: rescuers who cross lines of hatred to save the lives of neighbors and strangers; survivors of atrocities who live in evolving but still fragile societies; and child soldiers coerced into committing acts of horror.”
They are having a benefit auction on April 11th from 6 to 9 PM at Sun Studios, 628 Broadway, NYC. It will be hosted by the Tony and Pulitzer Prize-nominated playwright/actor Eric Bogosian.

During the reception, you will have the opportunity to view and bid on works of such photographers as Mark Seliger, Douglas Kirkland, Malick Sidibe, David Maisel, Andrew Moore, Ed Kashi and others. There is a very dramatic 9/11 photo of the Twin Towers by Robert Cumins, the moment before the second plane struck, a portrait of President Obama by Martin Schoeller, a Marilyn Monroe photo by Douglas Kirkland, Bruce Springsteen by Mark Seliger, and many more. You can see the photos that will be up for auction here.
Tickets are just $25. If you want to attend this worthy event, RSVP at proofmsj@gmail.com or call 347.707.2696
