ProShow 5 arrives with new slideshow options
My slideshow creator of choice as reached version 5. Photodex announced version 5 of its ProShow Gold and Producer.

My slideshow creator of choice as reached version 5, as I said, and it showing up a lot of new features. I am going to spend hours trying them all.
It's true. ProShow is entering a new era. With more and more people discovering the joys of slideshows, this new version offers more than 300 updates as well as some major new features designed to improve the user interface and add unprecedented effects to users' slideshows. ProShow is an intuitive software tool that lets people easily mix photos, video clips and music together into polished video slideshows.
The redesigned user interface (UI) brings extensive changes with larger, easier to view previews and work areas, improved slide editing workflow, improved keyframing, a new effects manager and new UI workspaces with unique program views. All of these updates enable users to see their work in greater detail and provide a new centralized layout for greater efficiency.
"As someone who creates slideshows regularly, whether its trips with grandkids or flowers in bloom, I've found the new layout in ProShow 5 incredibly intuitive and easy to navigate through my multiple projects," said Cathy Cunningham, ProShow Producer user since 2009. "So far I really like ProShow 5 because it just works; everything is right where it should be."
Another key feature in ProShow 5 are the new 3D tilt effects. These add depth and realism to photos and videos by letting users angle the perspective of their content in a slideshow. Users can create their own custom 3D tilt effects or choose from the library of built-in 3D slide styles, transitions and themes.
ProShow 5 offers 300 new features and enhancements, including:
GPU Acceleration - “ ProShow 5's GPU Acceleration delivers higher resolution playback in real time allowing users to see their photos, videos and slideshow previews in a new clarity and in full HD resolution. Without any changes to the user's system, ProShow 5 offers increased performance, higher quality show previews and snappier UI interactions.
SmugMug Integration - “ Users can now publish slideshows directly to SmugMug by selecting the SmugMug option. ProShow will automatically render and send HD videos to users' SmugMug galleries.
New Slide Styles and Transitions - “ Hundreds of new, built-in slide styles and transitions with new 3D tilt effects offer new ways to keep user's slideshows looking fresh, fun and modern.
Updated Wizard - “ The all new wizard offers automatic show creation with more flexibility. Users can now re-mix an entire show or just a selected group of slides and choose to use an 'Auto' energy level which will time a show's audio and visuals to end perfectly at the end of a song.
Colin McDonald, ProShow user for four years said, "The GPU facility and stability of the program in ProShow 5 is truly remarkable and the quality in the GPU acceleration has been tremendous as well. While this isn't new to ProShow 5 I am always thoroughly impressed by the technical and customer support provided by the Photodex team."
"Our team has been working day and night to be able to bring these enhanced features to our users," said Paul Schmidt, president and founder of Photodex. "We've been listening to customer feedback and we're really proud of what ProShow 5 will provide for them."
