ProShow Web, your slideshow program online, for free
Making professional slideshows online just got easier and cheaper
Photodex has just released their ProShow Web, an application that instantly creates video slideshows from your photos, videos and music.
Besides beign a marketing tool for their Windows software ProShow (which you can buy in professional and enthusiast versions), the new ProShow Web is a really useful tool that let's you create and share online your slideshows from photos and video.
To create a show, you just pick a theme, upload your content and ProShow Web creates a polished video slideshow for you. It comes with over 600 drag and drop effects to customize your video, a killer royalty-free music library and lots of easy ways to share online or download videos in HD to your computer. It's a quick, elegant way to show off your images & videos online, and it works virtually anywhere, whether you're on a Mac or PC.
One of the coolest features is that any video created online can be downloaded into ProShow Producer to further edit and fine-tune on your desktop... if you're a PC user and have got the program installed in your computer. It opens right up in an editable format. Just click the ‘Open in ProShow’ button once you’re show has been created.
Another feature exclusive to ProShow Web is the built-in Creative Palette. There you can drag and drop over 600 effects and transitions onto any scene in your show, great for fine-tuning your slideshow online.
I've just done a first slideshow to test the system and although different from the computer software, which I use since 2006 as my slideshow program of choice, ProShow Web is a great tool that opens new horizons in terms of creativity for photographers.
ProShow Web is a subscription based service that has three levels:
- Free – 15-photo shows that can be shared online
- Plus - $30/year – Unlimited, full-length videos, share online and free DVD downloads
- Premium - $150/year – Unlimited, full-length videos, licensed for commercial use, free 1080p HD downloads, watermarking and more (great for photographers)
