Rent A Camera: BorrowLenses.com [Review]
As most of you know, I recently came back from shooting a destination wedding in Florida. I’ll show you some of the images and talk about that a little more in the near future. For now, I wanted to thank you for recommending BorrowLenses.com when I asked you if you had ever rented a camera.
So why did I choose BorrowLenses.com?

I checked out all of your suggestions here on this website and a few that some of my Twitter followers suggested. Ultimately BorrowLenses.com kept coming up on the top of my list. Their website is easy to understand and simple to navigate. It is very clearly stated which camera body and lenses are in stock and available to rent. The prices are very competitive and their inventory is huge.
Here are a few of the benefits behind using BorrowLenses.com:
* Camera equipment rental by mail
* No deposits
* Optional damage insurance
* FedEx overnight or 2 day delivery
* Prepaid return label
* Highly rated customer service
* Huge selection of Canon & Nikon gear, flashes, lighting, tripods, camera bags, etc.
I have a confession to make. I’m that guy that calls customer service for really important purchase situations over the web when the product or time is really important. This was certainly one of those cases. I needed to rent a camera for a week and needed it delivered two days before we left town to run the camera through some tests and get familiar with the interface plus it gives me a little time to scramble should a problem arise. Their customer service representative was very friendly and able to answer all of my questions without pause or outside reference. I wasn’t on hold for an insane amount of time and all of my apprehensions about renting a camera body for an important event like a wedding were completely washed away.
I decided to rent a Canon 40D as my second camera for the wedding because I shoot regularly with a 30D and didn’t want too much of an interface change-up on a wedding shoot. I’m not in the market for a new camera just yet and didn’t really need to put myself in the position of lusting after the Canon 5D Mark ll more than I already do(okay so my wife helped me make that smart decision, she’s knows me better than I do).
How did it go?
The camera body came in on time with a fully charged battery and a battery charger. The body was in better shape than I expected and the sensor was clean. You really can’t ask for more than that.
The return process was painless as I just repackaged the camera body (after a quick cleaning with a rocket blower because I’m like that) in the box it came in and sent it off with the prepaid return label to FedEx. Simple. Easy. Painless. Done.
I would recommend BorrowLenses.com to anyone that is interested in renting a camera, lens, or any other photographic equipment needs.

good to hear you had a great experience, I've been wanting to try a TS-E lens for some time, but don't know anyone with one, I think I'll try renting!
Brett - You bring up a really good point on one of the benefits of renting a lens or camera body. If it's a major investment it would do some good to get a hands on experience with the equipment.
Just rented from borrowlenses.com based on your experience. Hope it all works out well.
C. Yarbo - I'm sure that your experience will be very pleasant. Let us know how it goes please.
Incredible resource! Thanks so much.
