San Francisco Cop Twice Strikes Man's Camera

A second officer steps in to restrain aggressive cop

A San Francisco police officer twice struck the camera of a man who was filming a demonstration against the Bay Area Rapid Transit system on Monday.

The videographer is Erik Verduzco, a journalist student, who was standing on a street corner video recording officers handing out water bottles to other officers.

Officer A. Mora took offense to this simple gesture, so he struck Verduzco’s camera.

When Verduzco zoomed in to get Mora’s badge number, the officer struck him again, but not before we could see his badge number is 2349.

A second officer even had to step in to restraint Mora.

The officers all ended up walking away.

The demonstration stems from BART police shooting in July as well as the fact that BART police shut down cell phone service in one of the earlier protests.

Is it Erik that is yelling "fucking pig?"

Saw this in the Injustice Everywhere feed, somehow I doubt it's going to work out well for them ;)

I would suggest that getting respect could entail giving a little respect.

I can't see yelling 'fucking pig' being terribly advantageous when making a point about one's rights.

While I can see your point, the protest was a response to the execution of a man by the police themselves. SO in this case, in the face of injustice from the cops themselves. This term, applies to these particular pigs. IF they were protesting the UN as an Example calling the police pigs would be wrong.

Yep, same Pigs that shut down cell phones too. Just like the Middle East.

I think it's safe to say that referring to BART as ****ing Pigs is actually quite endearing. All things considered.

It is within his 1st. Amendment rights to call a police officer a "fuck'n pig". That's not to say that its polite or even wise, but he does have the right to do it.

There's several people yelling and no way for us to tell if the videographer yelled pig.
