Is a photo taken with an iPhone app still prize-worthy? Pictures of the Year International chose a photograph by Damon Winter taken on his iPhone with the Hipstamatic app for third place in the feature picture story category; controversy ensued. Winter finally speaks on New York Times' LENS blog in his essay Through My Eye, Not Hipstamatic's.
