Saturday Shout-Outs: Links We Love

Simulating the effect of tilt-shift photography with Photoshop effects, the people at ArtCyclopedia lend new dimension to Van Gogh's paintings here (via reddit).

Check out Eirik Solheim’s videos One Year in 40 Seconds and One Year in Two Minutes in which he tracks the passage of time and the changing seasons for the same spot (his backyard) over a one-year period. Solheim captured the images with his Canon 400D and revealed how he made the video here.

The dial of this photography-inspired watch, the F-Stop Watch, tells time with relative aperture (F-Stop) for the price of $35.95.

In his moving exhibit "Hunger and Resilience" (excerpts here), photographer Michael Nye shares 50 portraits and audio stories from poor Americans who have struggled with hunger. This two-part, traveling exhibit debuted at the Witte Museum in San Antonio this year.

Dentsu London teamed up with biochemist and photographer Linden Gledhill for Canon Pixma's color printer advertising campaign. These "sound sculptures" of paint reacting to sound waves were caught in motion as well; Dentsu London explains the process and includes videos on their blog here.

Offering a community photography studio and retail outlet, the Levi's® Photo Workshop opened in NYC on Friday. New Yorkers are welcome to visit the Levi’s® Photo Workshop to rent equipment ranging from vintage to modern, use that equipment to make photographs and sell the photographs in the studio’s gallery.
