Scarfed by Art
The scarf, a marriage of Citra Solv and Dy-Na-Flow
For those of you that read my post yesterday, you may be hankering to get out there, buy Citra Solv and transfer your images onto the fabric of your lives.
I love cloaking myself in familial images. Its akin to walking around with a blankie or for those more versed in psychological terms, adorning oneself with a transitional object.
So, today, the silk scarf is finished. After dying the silk, one must wait a full 24 hours, set the color by ironing (which also removes the resist, leaving white areas on the silk) and then rinse in woolite and a bit of vinegar to set the colors. Then dry, iron, and you are ready to face the world. Learn about these techniques and more in my book, Digital Image Transfer: Creating Art With Your Photography. And get out those photos, scan them into your computer and make art,
Ever art and light on ...
