This "officer" is an absolute danger to society. It would be interesting to see his file.. has he ever shot anyone? been accused of excessive force? He is a time bomb waiting to go off. At a certain point in watching the video of the other incident which was more recent than this vid, I was thinking, man at this point I would be subtlety instigating him do something. Although if he did use unjustified physical force, I wouldn't be surprised if the dashcam had "technical issues".

I can't believe the back up officers didn't pull him aside and tell him to chill the fuck out... what's it called the blue code or something like that?

Is there any other job where you can be caught on two separate occasions threatening to murder people and NOT get fired immediately? I read posters here talking about de-escalation; do they teach that ANYWHERE to cops in the U.S.? From watching cop behavior on film it looks to me like they are taught to be as aggressive and confrontational as possible. Of course when people naturally react negatively to this attitude, out comes the tasers, clubs, mace, and guns

I noticed in an article that is linked to this page, that the the driver is in trouble for "failing to properly notify the officer he had the gun."

In the state of Washington, if you have a permit to carry, you are not obliged to tell an officer that you are carrying.

Has anyone investigated any record Officer Daniel Harless has in actual officer involved shootings? Are there any such incidents? His behavior is wrong and I believe he should be terminated from his position of authority. But if he has actually escalated into carrying out his threats, that takes it to a whole new level. I'd like to know more about his history as an officer.

The 2nd Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America, the Supreme Law of the Land, the blueprint/DNA of our system of government and the measuring stick by which all law is evaluated, states very clearly that all citizens have "the right to KEEP and BEAR arms" and that that right "SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED." It's astounding to me that not only have some of the people commenting here have strayed so far from the basic foundations of lawful government, but that they have been so seduced by authoritarian/totalitarian governmental propaganda that they react in childish, submissive fear toward "an unsecured person with a gun" at a routine traffic stop. This (evidently psychopathic) cop was a hero in their starry eyes, and the citizen bearing arms, a pillar of our free and open society according to the Constitution, was the "threat." This is perversion, and it is perversion by design.

Daniel Hairless, excuse me, Harless is a danger to society, no, the human race. How the hell did he get hired on the police department. Harless is a psychopath. Harless was attempting to provoke those folks so that he could shoot one or all of them. Harless should be charged with assault with a deadly weapon because that was what he was doing. He needs to be put in jail and not segregated from the prison population. Perhaps that would make these cops, cops who are bullies and who hide behind their position/badge, make them realize that they are not above the law!!
Charge Harless with felony ADW and put him in prison for three years. Too many cops are behaving like this moron and they need to be re-educated in the PROTECT and SERVE mode, not the intimidate and abuse mode they seem to be acquiring. If Harless had been shot and killed and I was on the jury I would have called it justifiable homicide and let perpertrator walk. Abusive cops, abusive parents and abusive clergy are all in the same category when you are supposed to be protecting someone and you use that authority to abuse them you need to be dealt with severely.
