Secret techniques behind our HDR photography
"Realistic HDR" e-book review
Yes, we did it!
Our recent e-book, "Realistic HDR" for Landscape and Architectural Photographers has been released:
This e-book was hightly anticipated and expected by many photographers.
We have created this book based on our own experience. All of our research has been done on the Internet using free sources such as photography forums and blogs. The rest has been learned by our own experimentation, a trial and error approach.
Fact: We were one of the first photography studios to use HDR techniques for commercial architectural photography in the Atlanta metro area.
A few things about HDR photography we believe in:
There isn’t a single-exposure HDR photograph. You can call it “HDR”,“Tonal Contrast” or “Tone Mapping”, but a single exposure image has nothing to do with HDR photography. Many people process RAW images with bright overexposed or dark underexposed areas through Photomatix and call them HDR; technically this still isn’t an HDR image by definition.

We’ve tried to make this book as simple and effective as possible, soyou won’t find any theoretical information about the science behind HDR processing in this book.
There are many good online resources exists and we’veincluded some in our suggested for reading links at the end of this book. What we will show you is how we create our realistic style of

A bit pricey for an 84 page e-book
Richard,
Stack of 500 white paper sheets cost about $8. I believe in quality v.s quantity:-)
Just out of interest, where are the "Original RAW images which were used as an examples in the book" and the "Layered PSD files of the processed images"? They aren't in the PDF download.
Paul,
They are: there are links in the end of PDF book, pointing to the files on our server. Source files weight about 800Mb, so it was no way to include them in e-book.
Got them, thanks! I missed the links and then had to deactivate Trust Manager in FoXit Pro to get the links to work. All good. Thank you.
Great!
if you have any question in a future, feel free to post them in "Discuss it" page on http://www.realistichdrbook.com/ , I am checking it much more often:-)
Also, if you decide to share your own HDR, there is a "Submit HDR" page, where you can post them. And if they will be good, you'll be featured in Showcase!
Thank you!
If nothing else, major kudos for setting the record straight about "single-shot HDR". That term makes me spit.
