News in brief: Canon Powershot G12 gets the nod from T3
Just a quick note that at the T3 Gadget Awards last night, it was the Canon Powershot G12 that walked away with the Digital Camera of the Year award. Its opposition for the gong were the Fuji Finepix X100, the Olympus E-PL2, the Nikon D3100, the Canon Eos 600D, and the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF2. It seemed to tick the boxes of being a great camera for someone who doesn’t want to make the dSLR leap, but equally a reliable second-shooter for those of us with a dSLR. When the category is as broad as ‘Digital Camera of the Year’ – that makes a bit of sense.
In case you didn’t know, T3 is a UK-based gadget magazine. You can take a peek at its web-version here and look at a run-down of all its award categories and winners here.
